(A) Sills. Sills shall be minimum two-inch by 12-inch double or equal and double bolted to notched pilings with minimum two hot dipped galvanized bolts not less than 1/2-inch diameter accompanied by washers of not less than 1-1/2-inch of similar material at head and nut.
(B) Joists. Joists shall be a minimum of two-inch by eight-inch, 16 inches on center with span not to exceed 13 feet. Joists shall be a minimum of two-inch by ten-inch, 16 inches on center not to exceed 16 feet. When floor joists are placed on ledger strips and nailed directly into sills at ends no additional fasteners are required. If joists are placed on top of sills each joist must be secured with a hot dipped galvanized hurricane clip and fastener. Such systems may require additional fastening if such is deemed necessary by the Building Inspector. All joists shall have adequate bridging. All lumber shall be of a grade satisfactory to the Building Inspector. All floor systems shall be properly insulated with not less than six inches of approved insulation material and underneath shall be enclosed so as to contain insulation.
(C) Nails and fasteners. All nails, bolts, clips, straps, staples, or other fastening devices shall be of hot dipped galvanized of equally suitable corrosion resistant material. This includes all fasteners except those on the interior finish. No washer shall be less than 1-1/2-inch diameter.
