(A) A violation of this chapter is a misdemeanor punishable in accordance with the provisions of G.S. § 14-4.
(B) Except as provided otherwise herein, a violation of the provisions of this chapter shall subject the offender to a civil penalty in the amount of $50 per day to be recovered by the town in a civil action in the nature of debt if the offender does not pay the penalty within 15 days after having been cited for a violation of this chapter. Each day's continuing violation shall be a separate and distinct offense.
(C) A violation of §§ 151.035 through 151.039 of this chapter shall subject the offender to a civil penalty in the amount of $10 per day to be recovered by the town in a civil action in the nature of debt if the offender does not pay the penalty within 15 days after having been cited for a violation of this chapter. Each day's continuing violation shall be a separate and distinct offense.
