§ 91.26 CLAIMING IMPOUNDED ANIMALS.
   (A)   The owner of an impounded animal shall be entitled to claim the animal, except as provided in this section, upon compliance with the license provisions of this chapter, the payment of all designated fees and penalties, and upon furnishing proof of ownership.
   (B)   Reclaiming fees as provided in this section shall be $3 per day for each animal plus a $10 penalty, except in the case of dogs without a current license in which case the penalty will be $20. This fee and penalty does not include applicable charges for any license or rabies inoculation that may be required by this chapter or other applicable law. If the animal claimed is not properly licensed or inoculated, the owner shall secure the necessary license and have the animal inoculated.
   (C)   For each animal that is impounded more than one time within a 12-month period, the penalty for taking up and impounding the animal shall be $20 in all cases.
