141.04 AUXILIARY POLICE FORCE.
   The Director of Safety may appoint, on recommendation of the Chief of Police, such auxiliary police officers as he may deem necessary and as appropriations may permit. Such auxiliary police officers shall not be less than eighteen years of age, and in good physical condition. Auxiliary police officers shall have the same authority as reserve police officers except that they shall not be used on patrol duty and shall not be required to be in uniform or to furnish bond. When used to supplement the police force, they shall be paid such compensation as the Director of Safety may approve, within existing appropriations. Each member of the auxiliary police shall be considered to be an employee of the City and shall be paid compensation of one dollar ($1.00) per year.
