511.05 EQUIPMENT MAINTENANCE AND INSPECTION OF ALARM SYSTEMS.
   (a)    Required Equipment. All equipment used in any such alarm system installation shall meet the applicable standards of the Underwriters Laboratories of the United States, Factory Mutual or the National Fire Protection Association or other recognized industry standard. The owner or installer may be required to submit evidence of the reliability and suitability of the equipment to be installed.
   (b)    Inspections. The appropriate authority or his designee shall have the authority, at reasonable times and upon oral notice, to enter upon any premises within the City, to inspect only the installation and operation of an interconnected alarm system, the purpose of which is to report an emergency to the Police or Fire Division. In the event the premises to be inspected is a private dwelling, such inspection shall only be done between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. and only if the notice is in written form addressed to the owner and presented to a responsible adult. Under this chapter, such residences are only subject to the above inspection after four false alarms have originated from such location. The written notice shall cite the specific false alarm history. Failure to allow reasonable inspection of such alarm system may be grounds for disconnection from an interconnected alarm system.
   (c)    Required Repairs. The appropriate authority or his designee may require that repairs or adjustments be made whenever he has determined that such repairs or adjustments are necessary to the proper functioning of the alarm system. He may also order temporary disconnection of the alarm system until completion of such repairs or adjustments.
   (d)    Police Alarm Systems. All police alarm systems shall be installed and maintained with an automatic cut-off , and re-set of the alarm within fifteen minutes of the activation of the alarm system.
   (e)    Notification of Contact Person. The owner of a building or other property where an alarm system is installed must notify the Police Division of the name, address and telephone number of the person who may be contacted in the event an alarm is received from that property. Upon request of the appropriate fire or police personnel, such contact person will come to the scene of the alarm to assist safety personnel in examining or securing the scene. Failure of the contact person without just cause to come to the scene upon such request will result in the finding of a chargeable false alarm and the corresponding assessment of the cost thereof without regard to the limitations of Section 511.03.
