6-4-17: PROHIBITED ACTS AND CONDITIONS 1 :
   A.   Unlawful Riding on Vehicles: It shall be unlawful for any person to ride on any vehicle upon any portion thereof not designated or intended for the use of passengers when the vehicle is in motion. This provision shall not apply to an employee engaged in the necessary discharge of a duty or to persons riding within truck bodies in space intended for merchandise. (1976 Code §19-14)
   B.   Using Vehicles for Advertising: It shall be unlawful for any person to operate or to park on any street any vehicle for the primary purpose of displaying advertising.
Any person charged with a violation of this subsection may, in lieu of prosecution for a violation thereof, make payment in accordance with Section 1-4-2 of this Code. (1976 Code §19-16)
   C.   Clinging to Moving Vehicles: It shall be unlawful for any person traveling upon any bicycle, coaster, sled, roller skates or toy vehicle to cling to or attach himself or his vehicle to any moving vehicle upon any roadway, and it shall be unlawful for the driver of any such motor vehicle to knowingly permit the rider upon any such bicycle, motorcycle, coaster, sled, roller skates or any toy vehicle, to cling to or attach himself to such moving vehicle. It shall be unlawful for any person traveling on foot to attach himself to any moving vehicle and slide or attempt to slide on pavement, an act commonly called "skeetching". (1976 Code §19-17)
