10-5-2: STORM DRAINS:
   A.   An adequate system of storm water drainage designed for a ten (10) year maximum rain shall be constructed and installed consisting of pipes, tiles, manholes, inlets, catch basins and other necessary facilities that will adequately drain the subdivision and protect roadway pavements and will prevent the accumulation of storm water at any place under normal conditions. The design and construction of such storm water drainage system shall comply in all respects with the standard specifications for the village found in article A of this chapter and specifically with section 10-5A-3 of this chapter. In addition, all drainage systems shall be subject to approval by the village engineer.
   B.   Back yard swales in residence districts may be permitted, subject to the following regulations:
      1.   Maximum and minimum slopes and general design criteria of the federal housing administration's "Minimum Property Requirements" (latest edition) will be acceptable except as herein modified.
      2.   No continuous swale shall have a length exceeding six hundred feet (600'). (1976 Code §16-89)
      3.   Minimum grade of the flow line shall be two percent (2%). (Ord. 98-22, 4-23-1998)
      4.   At no point in the swale shall the flow line be more than three feet (3') below the finished grade of the topsoil at the foundation of the house opposite the swale.
      5.   No change in alignment of a back yard swale shall exceed forty five degrees (45°). (1976 Code §16-89)
