The Board of Police Commissioners shall have such powers, duties and responsibilities as are assigned by the Mayor and Board of Trustees, including, but not limited to:
A. The Board of Police Commissioners shall conduct examinations for and make all original and promotional appointments of officers of the Police Department, except as otherwise provided in this Chapter, in accordance with the rules and regulations provided for in Section 2-4-6 of this Chapter.
B. The Board of Police Commissioners shall have the authority over and be responsible for the discipline of all officers of the Police Department, except as otherwise provided in this Chapter, in accordance with the rules and regulations provided for in Section 2-4-6 of this Chapter.
