No supplies or services shall be purchased by purchase order as herein set forth if the item or service exceeds the specified amount. No contract or purchase shall be subdivided to avoid the requirements of this section. For the application of this section, any specific job or project in which the purchase of one or more items of service and/or materials is required, and the sum total of all the items of service and/or materials for that particular job or project would be likely to exceed the amount requiring public bidding, shall not be purchased by purchase order.
Where any one department of the Village requires the completion of two or more similar jobs or projects that are similar in nature, whether in the same area of the Village or not, and the total of all of the aspects of the job exceeds that specified amount, the same shall not be purchased by purchase order.
