The regulations set forth in subsections (a)-(f) hereof shall govern holiday pay for all full-time, non-bargaining unit employees of the Village. The regulation set forth in paragraph (g) of this Section shall govern holiday pay for all part-time, non-bargaining unit employees of the Village.
(a) Full-time employees shall receive the following legal holidays: New Year's Day, Martin Luther King Day, President's Day, Memorial Day, Juneteenth, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, the Friday following Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day.
(b) If a holiday falls on a Sunday, the full-time employee will be given Monday off. If a holiday falls on a Saturday, the full-time employee will be given Friday off.
(c) All full-time employees shall receive their holiday pay at his or her regular rate of pay.
(d) If a full-time employee is required to work on the following holidays: Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, New Year’s Day, Martin Luther King Day, President’s Day, Memorial Day, Juneteenth, Independence Day, or Labor Day, the full-time employee shall be paid at the rate of two times his or her regular rate of pay. If a full-time employee is required to work on the Friday following Thanksgiving Day, the full-time employee shall be paid at the rate of one and one-half times his or her regular rate of pay.
(e) Each full-time employee shall be entitled to two personal holidays during each year, provided that new full-time employees shall not use more than one personal holiday, one each quarter, during the first six (6) months of employment. In the case when a full-time employee begins employment between January 1 and June 30, two (2) personal holidays will be awarded. When employment begins between July 1 and December 31, one personal holiday will be awarded to be used before the end of the first quarter of the following year.
(f) For full-time employees, all legal and personal holidays shall be considered as earned time.
(g) Beginning December 1, 2021, all part-time, non-bargaining unit employees, in addition to their regular straight-time pay for hours worked, shall be paid eight (8) hours straight time pay, for each of the following holidays that they actually work:
(1) New Years Day;
(2) Martin Luther King Day;
(3) President’s Day;
(4) Memorial Day;
(5) Juneteenth
(6) Independence Day;
(7) Labor Day;
(8) Thanksgiving Day;
(9) The Friday following Thanksgiving; and
(10) Christmas Day.
