145.11 DUTIES OF FULL-TIME POLICE CLERK.
   There is hereby established within the Division of Police the position of full-time Police Clerk who shall be appointed by the Mayor and who shall be under the control and supervision of the Police Chief.
   (a)   Duties as to the full-time Police Clerk:
      (1)   Record all dispositions from traffic and criminal courts; prepare traffic criminal cases for transfer to Bedford Municipal Court;
      (2)   Verify active warrants for monthly validations required by LEADS;
      (3)   Order police department office supplies;
      (4)   Sort mail;
      (5)   Check files each month to insure that all reports are filed in numerical order and accounted for;
      (6)   Answer phones and direct calls to appropriate personnel;
      (7)   Assist with walk-in inquiries;
      (8)   Assist Mayor’s Court Clerk in collecting fines and waiver;
      (9)   Assist Mayor’s Court Clerk as authorized by the Safety Director, Police Chief and/or Law Director;
      (10)   Prepare warrants and affidavits for the Detective Bureau and Patrolman for apprehension of wanted parties;
      (11)   Assist in typing and filing jackets for traffic citations;
      (12)   Process requests for police reports and receipt monies and turn in to the Treasurer’s Office;
      (13)   Maintain parking violations (file in numerical order and send notices as needed);
      (14)   Retrieve and copy all accident reports made by request from insurance companies and attorneys;
      (15)   Update all Bedford Municipal Court cases in computer/file box as they are disposed of by the Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicle (BMV);
      (16)   Other duties as are assigned by the Police Chief.
   (b)   The Police Clerk shall be designated as full-time or part-time as necessary by the Mayor and Police Chief and shall receive such compensation as Council shall from time to time provide. (Ord. 2019-61. Passed 11-13-19.)
