145.04 PSYCHOLOGICAL EXAMINATIONS.
   (a)   Each and every applicant for a full-time or part-time position within the Police Department, including the Chief of Police, pursuant to Ohio R.C. 737.15, 737.16 or 737.161, shall present to the Mayor, via the Chief of Police, evidence of successful completion of a psychological examination.
      (1)   This psychological examination shall be of a type administered by an organization or individual approved by the Mayor.
      (2)   Each applicant shall fulfill the requirements of subsection (a) hereof, prior to commencing his or her probationary period, pursuant to Ohio R.C. 737.17, or prior to appointment under Ohio R.C. 737.161.
      (3)   In order to have validity for purposes of this section, the psychological examination shall have been administered no later than six months prior to the beginning of the applicant’s probationary period, pursuant to Ohio R.C. 737.17, or prior to the applicant’s appointment pursuant to Ohio R.C. 737.161.

   (b)   Upon the recommendation of the Police Chief for good cause shown and approval of the Mayor, a full-time or part-time police officer shall undergo, at the Village’s cost a complete psychological reexamination.
      (1)   This psychological reexamination shall be of a type administered by an organization or individual approved by the Mayor.
      (2)   Failure to pass any reexamination shall constitute grounds for termination from employment with the Village.
   (c)   Upon recommendation of the Mayor for good cause shown, the Police Chief shall undergo, at the Village’s cost a complete psychological reexamination.
      (1)   This psychological reexamination shall be of a type administered by an organization or individual approved by the Mayor.
      (2)   Failure to pass any reexamination shall constitute grounds for termination from employment with the Village.
