(a) The Village Architect shall review all building permit applications, together with accompanying plans, drawings and specifications, for any building or any other structure to be built in the Village, and which are subject to the Ohio Basic Building Code. The Village Architect shall review plans to determine conformance with the minimum requirements of the Ohio Basic Building Code and the amendments, if any, adopted by the Village thereto, governing the erection, construction, repair, alteration and maintenance of buildings and structures. The Village Architect shall approve or disapprove all applications in writing; no permit shall be issued without such written approval.
(b) The Village Architect shall consult with the Mayor and other department heads, and assist the Council on legislative matters relating to building code compliance or construction practices or standards. The Village Architect shall further perform such other duties as may be assigned by the Mayor.
