The Law Director shall be appointed annually by Council and may be removed by affirmative vote of five (5) members of Council at any time during that period; provided that such removal shall not impair any contract rights which the Law Director may possess. No person shall be eligible to be appointed Law Director who is not an attorney at law, admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of Ohio, and has at least two years of experience in municipal law. The municipal law requirement may be waived by Council.
The Law Director shall prepare all contracts, bonds, ordinances and other instruments in which the Municipality is concerned; advise Council and any officer of the Municipality concerning the law in any matter before Council or said official; defend or prosecute any action on behalf of or taken against the Municipality when so requested by Council and perform all other duties required by this Charter or by ordinance or resolution of Council.
