(a) Salary. The annual salary of the Director of Public Safety shall be fixed by the Council.
(b) Vehicle Allowance. The Director of Public Safety shall receive an annual vehicle allowance in an amount set by Council, by motion, after consultation with the Treasurer. The vehicle allowance shall be used to purchase, lease or own, operate and maintain a personal vehicle. The vehicle allowance shall be paid in equal payments on a monthly basis or another schedule as recommended by the Treasurer. The Director of Public Safety shall be responsible for paying for liability, property damage and comprehensive insurance coverage upon such vehicle and shall further be responsible for gasoline, oil and all expenses attendant to the operation, maintenance, repair and regular replacement of the vehicle.
(c) Mileage Reimbursement. The Director of Public Safety shall be reimbursed at the mileage rate and in accordance with the guidelines, established by the Internal Revenue Service for all business use of the vehicle. The Director of Public Safety shall maintain a mileage log and submit it monthly to the Treasurer.
(d) Mobile Phone. The Director of Public Safety shall be provided with a mobile phone to be used for Village business with the expenses of the mobile phone being paid by the Village. (Ord. 2018-05. Passed 2-14-18.)
