158.03 GENERAL.
   It is the policy of the Village of Woodmere to comply with all applicable federal and state laws, rules, regulations, and guidelines regarding employment discrimination and retaliation. Discrimination or harassment against employees and applicants due to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, age, or military status is illegal.
   It is unlawful for any person to discriminate in any manner against any other person because that person has opposed any unlawful discrimination practice. It is also unlawful to retaliate against any person who has made a charge of employment discrimination, testified, assisted or participated in any manner in an investigation, proceeding, or hearing.
   The Village encourages all employees to assist in the effort to achieve equal opportunity in the workplace. Violations of this policy may be cause for disciplinary action, including termination.
