§ 154.17 TERMS; REMOVAL OF MEMBERS.
   (A)   The voting members of the Woodford County Rural Land Board shall serve a term of 4 years from the date of appointment, provided the terms of those originally appointed shall be staggered in the following manner; 3 members shall be appointed for 1 year; 3 members shall be appointed for 2 years; 2 members shall be appointed for 3 years; and 3 members shall be appointed for 4 years.
   (B)   Vacancies in the voting membership shall be filled for an unexpired term in the manner prescribed for the original appointment. The membership of the ex-officio non-voting members shall be terminated upon leaving the specified offices.
   (C)   Any member who is no longer a Woodford County resident shall be removed from the Woodford County Rural Land Board once the member no longer resides within Woodford County.
   (D)   No voting member who was originally appointed to the Woodford County Rural Land Board for less than a 4-year term and who has served 2 consecutive full terms after his or her initial term may succeed himself or herself until the lapse of 12 months from the end of the consecutive term. No appointed voting member who has served 2 consecutive full terms may succeed himself or herself until the lapse of 12 months from the end of the consecutive terms.
   (E)   A voting member of the Woodford County Rural Land Board shall be removed only by a majority vote of the Woodford County Fiscal Court, and only for cause, except that a member of the Board shall automatically be removed by operation of law in the event of 3 unexcused absences, whether consecutive or nonconsecutive, in any 2-year period or in the event of absence from 25% of the meetings in any 2-year period. An unexcused absence is any absence in which the chair of the board or the Woodford County Rural Land Board is not notified of the intended absence at least 24 hours in advance of a regularly scheduled meeting. In the event of 3 unexcused absences or the absence from 25% of the meetings over any 2-year period, within the meaning of this section, the Woodford County Rural Land Board shall notify the Judge/Executive that a vacancy exists on the Woodford County Rural Land Board.
