(A) Any person must first obtain a permit from the Versailles-Midway-Woodford County Planning Commission before commencing construction, alteration or repairs of any electrical wiring, subject to inspection as the Woodford County Fiscal Court deems necessary for the safety of life and property.
(B) No permit shall issue unless the applicant submits, through an affidavit or other means later prescribed or approved by order of the Woodford County Fiscal Court, that he or she has complied with workers’ compensation and unemployment insurance laws and regulations.
(C) Additionally, no permit shall issue unless the applicant submits proof in the manner prescribed above that he or she has obtained a general liability insurance policy of not less than $500,000 which is in effect. Failure to comply with this requirement shall be grounds for suspension or revocation of an electrical contractor license. However, the provisions of this division shall not apply to a homeowner or farmer who does construction, alteration or repairs of any electrical wiring on his or her own premises.
