(A) Woodford County complies with the policy in KRS 61.394, State Employees’ Leave of Absence – Pay. Any employee occupying a full-time regular position with the county who is a member of the National Guard or any reserve component of the Armed Forces of the United States, or of the Reserve Corps of the United States Public Health Service, shall be entitled to military leave for intervals not exceeding 15 calendar days in any 1 calendar year for the purpose of attending annual mandatory training. Employees while on leave shall be paid their salaries without loss of time, pay, regular leave impairment of efficiency rating, or of any other rights or benefits to which they are entitled for periods not to exceed 15 calendar days.
(B) Employees activated for military service, beyond the annual mandatory training, shall have their position and benefits administered pursuant to 101 KAR 2:102, § 6. An employee may take a military leave of absence without pay for a period of active duty not to exceed 6 years.
(C) A request in writing for military leave must be presented to the Department Head not less than 4 weeks prior to the beginning of the leave period.
