The notice should be in writing and should include the effective date of the resignation, which shall be the last day the employee shall work for the county. An employee will be terminated on the effective resignation date.       (3)   The employment date of an employee who resigns and is reinstated will be the latest date of employment.
      (4)   Any employee who is absent from work for 3 consecutive work days without notifying his or her Department Head of the reason(s) for the absence will be considered to have abandoned the job and may be terminated from employment unless extraordinary justification is given which justifies the employee’s failure to provide notification.
      (5)   Employees resigning shall receive pay for accrued vacation and holiday leave.
      (6)   All county property must be returned prior to issuance of the final paycheck or the value of such items, (i.e. keys, uniforms, etc.) will be deducted from the final paycheck.
   (B)   Exit interview. Employees departing employment with the county are encouraged to participate in an exit interview. Employees departing employment with Woodford County shall contact the Personnel Officer or his or her designee to enable the administration to obtain information regarding forwarding address and type of action desired with regard to employee benefits or any other type of required information. An interview also enables the Personnel Officer to obtain information which could reduce employee turnover, provide better employee selection, improve working conditions and obtain information that could lead to improved employee morale.
