Sec. 6.102. Contagious Diseases.
   A.   Report Of Disease Required: Eery person caring for, treating or in charge of a person afflicted with a contagious or epidemic disease shall make a report of it within twenty four (24) hours to the Chief of Police. (1976 Code §12-22)
   B.   Quarantine:
      1.   Authority: The Chief of Police shall have the power and authority to place any premises within which a contagious or epidemic disease occurs under quarantine. He shall enforce the rules that determine the termination time of the quarantine. (1976 Code §12-23)
      2.   Entry Of Food Handlers Upon Quarantined Premises: No person engaged in the delivery of food or drink intended for human consumption shall enter any premises quarantined because of the existence of a contagious or epidemic disease. (1976 Code §12-25)
      3.   Containers Or Bottles In Quarantined Premises: No containers or bottles shall be removed from any quarantined premises until the termination of the quarantine, nor shall such bottle or container be again placed in use for the carrying of food or drink until it has been thoroughly sterilized. (1976 Code §12-26)
   C.   Spreading Disease Prohibited: It shall be unlawful for any person to spread wilfully or carelessly any contagious or epidemic disease or to so cause the spread of same. (1976 Code §12-24)
Sec. 6.103. Open Fires.
It shall be unlawful to cause, start, have and/or maintain any open fire; except that this prohibition shall not apply:
   A.   To fires used for cooking food at public or private gatherings; and
   B.   To fires commenced by members of the Wood Dale Fire Protection District No. 1 Fire Department pursuant to orders of the Chief of the department; provided, that:
      1.   Such orders pertain to the training of the departmental members in firefighting techniques;
      2.   Such orders have been given pursuant to authorization granted by the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency and further authorization granted by the City Council;
      3.   At least forty eight (48) hours before commencing any such training exercise, the Chief or his duly authorized agent notifies the City Manager of the location and time of such training exercise; and
      4.   The Fire Chief shall cause the removal of all debris from the location of such exercise and shall oversee the filling in of any open excavation left as a result thereof. (1976 Code §12-3)
Sec. 6.104. Dense Smoke Emissions.
It shall be unlawful to cause or permit the emission of dense smoke. For the purpose of testing and grading the density of smoke, the Ringelmann Smoke Chart, as published and used by the United States Geological Survey, shall be and is hereby adopted as a standard for such grading, and smoke is hereby defined as dense when it is of a degree of no. 3 of said chart, or greater, for more than six (6) minutes in any one hour. Sec. 6.105. Smoking Prohibited In Certain Places 1 .
It shall be unlawful for any person to smoke or light a cigarette, cigar or pipe in the Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Paul and Pacific Railroad Company Depot located south of Irving Park Boulevard, at Cedar Street, adjacent to the commuter parking lot. The City Manager shall cause printed signs, on which the words "NO SMOKING" shall appear in letters at least four inches (4") high, to be placed in at least two (2) conspicuous places in the depot.
Any person violating any provision of this section shall be subject to enforcement as defined in chapter 1, article IV of this Code. (Ord. O-18-024, 7-19-2018)

Sec. 6.106. Spitting.
It shall be unlawful to spit or expectorate on any public sidewalk or other public place or on the floor or walls of any store, theater, hall, public vehicle or other place frequented by the public or to which the public is invited.
Any person violating any provision of this section shall be subject to enforcement as defined in chapter 1, article IV of this Code. (Ord. O-18-024, 7-19-2018)
Sec. 6.107. Cemeteries.
It shall be unlawful for any person to establish a cemetery or to bury any person except in a previously established cemetery. (1976 Code §12-1)
Sec. 6.108. Heating Apartments.
   A.   Except as otherwise provided by the Federal Energy Office, apartment houses shall be kept at a temperature of not less than sixty eight degrees Fahrenheit (68°F) between the hours of seven o'clock (7:00) A.M. and ten o'clock (10:00) P.M. each day.
   B.   It shall be the duty of the owner or person in charge of any apartment house where there is a central heating plant controlled by him to maintain and provide the required heat during the period between October 1 and April 30 of each year when needed. (1976 Code §12-2)
Sec. 6.109. Common Drinking Cups.
It shall be unlawful to maintain any common drinking cup, dipper or other similar utensil in any place frequented by the public. (1976 Code §12-8)
Sec. 6.110. Penalty.
Any person who shall be convicted of violating any provision of this article, where there is no provision to the contrary, shall be subject to enforcement as defined in chapter 1, article IV of this Code. (Ord. O-18-024, 7-19-2018)
