Every habitable room shall have not less than one window or skylight facing upon a street, yard,
or other open space as defined by the zoning ordinance and any alcove opening off a habitable room may be included as part of the room in calculating required window area if 80% of the common wall area provides an unobstructed opening to the alcove.
