(A) No dwelling unit or building of dwelling occupancy shall hereafter be constructed, created, altered, or reconstructed which does not comply with provisions of this chapter, and no dwelling unit shall be altered in its space, area, use, or arrangement in a manner which shall decrease its compliance with provisions of this section and this chapter.
(B) All structural alterations or additions to existing buildings shall comply with provisions of the building code as applies to new construction.
