§ 73.34 RESTRICTED AREAS.
   (A)   It shall be unlawful for any person to operate any snowmobile on any village street, roadway, alley, right-of-way or highway, provided, however, that it shall not be unlawful to cross a village street, roadway, alley, right-of-way or highway in a line perpendicular thereto, for the sole purpose of obtaining access to an area which is available for use by snowmobiles across that street, roadway, alley or highway.
   (B)   (1)   It shall be unlawful to operate a snowmobile within 75 feet of areas cleared for skating, tobogganing, or other winter activities.
      (2)   It shall be unlawful to operate a snowmobile on private property of another without the express written permission to do so by the owner or tenant of said property.
      (3)   It shall be unlawful to operate a snowmobile on public school grounds, park property, play grounds and recreational areas without express written provision or permission to do so by the proper public authority or individual, except that snowmobiles may be operated without written permission in the 38-acre park on the northwest corner of 9th Street and Russell Avenue legally described as follows:
         (a)   Parcel 1: That part of Lot 9 of Winthrop Harbor in the South Half of the North East Quarter of Section 9, Township 46 North, Range 12, East of the 3rd P.M., lying west of Johnston's Winthrop Park Subdivision recorded as Document 782151, and West of Westfield Park, a Subdivision recorded as Document 1102605 (except the East 672.0 feet thereof), in Lake County, Illinois.
         (b)   Parcel 2: The East 465.5 feet of the South Half of Lot 12 in the North West Quarter of Section 9, Township 46 North, Range 12, East of the 3rd P.M., in Lake County, Illinois.
      (4)   Snowmobiles must be operated on the above-described park property in accordance with the provisions of this chapter and without damage to existing park property. The Recreation Director of this village is specifically empowered to post “No Snowmobiling” signs upon this park, which posting shall revoke the privilege of all persons to operate any snowmobile upon the park property, rendering such use unlawful.
