All sidewalks constructed within the town shall be subject to approval by the Building Inspector. Minimum standards for approval shall be four-inch thickness and four-foot wide minimum for concrete sidewalks, except that sidewalks constructed on town property or on town right-of-way or easements shall be four inch thickness minimum and five-foot wide minimum and shall conform to the Town Manual of Standard Designs and Details. Brick sidewalks shall be permitted, provided that a firm and level base is prepared and that the sidewalk is maintained in a smooth condition free of tripping hazards.
