There is hereby levied and imposed on every person who is a transient guest in a hotel and pays a charge for lodging therein a tax of two percent (2%) on the amount paid for such lodging. The tax shall apply to every hotel in the Municipality for which a charge for lodging is made, notwithstanding the fact that the reservation for said lodging is made outside of the Municipality.
