The intent of this chapter is to promote the public health, safety, comfort, convenience, prosperity, and general welfare of the community by regulating the placement of wireless telecommunications facilities. It is the purpose of this chapter to protect the public and properties in the community from potential health and safety issues and to minimize the adverse visual and aesthetic effects of such facilities to the public and properties located in the community. It is also the purpose of this chapter to accommodate the need for such facilities while regulating the use and need for such facilities and encouraging the joint use of any existing and new wireless telecommunication facilities in order to reduce the number of such structures both currently and in the future.
