Section 2.66.040   Powers and duties.
The Director of Engineering shall be subject to the control and direction of the Village Manager and shall be the head of the Department of Engineering. Subject to the approval of the Village Manager, the Director of Engineering shall have both control over all of the property and employees of the Department of Engineering and the power to appoint and remove employees as required for the efficient operation of the Department. In addition, the Director of Engineering shall have the following duties, functions and responsibilities:
   A.    To review and inspect all private project development and municipal public works projects for compliance with approved plans, codes, regulations and standards, construction methods, materials, and equipment.
   B.   To develop plans for rehabilitation and construction of storm water, sewer, water, and street system maps and other plans involving municipal infrastructure.
   C.    To develop and maintain the geographical information system.
   D.   To plant, maintain and protect trees located in the Village;
   E.   To construct and repair storm water pumping and storage facilities, lift stations, and storm water and sanitary lines.
   F.   To complete all required reports to reporting agencies concerning engineering activities.
