Section 12.08.010   Sidewalk construction.
   A.   Permit. No person shall build, construct, lay or repair any public sidewalk or cause the same to be done except by a permit issued by the Director of Engineering, and then only in accordance with the provisions of such permit or ordinance ordering such sidewalk and at the grade specified in such permit or ordinance.
   Such person shall pay to the Village a sum to be set from time to time by resolution of the Village Council, and shall also pay the necessary engineering and inspection costs.
   B.   Identification of Work. Any person building public concrete sidewalks in the Village shall stamp in all sidewalks laid by him or her his or her name and the year in which such sidewalks were constructed. Such name and date shall be stamped at each end of each piece of walk laid by him or her before the work sets. The letters and figures of such impressions shall be at least one-half inch high and three-sixteenths of an inch in depth.
   C.   Specifications. All public sidewalks constructed in the Village must be built in accordance with specifications approved by the Director of Engineering, approved by the Council.
   D.   Supervision. All public sidewalks which may be ordered constructed, laid or relaid by the Council, or by any property owner, his or her agent or employee, shall be laid or relaid under the supervision and to the satisfaction of the Director of Engineering and in accordance with the provisions of this section.
