Section 9.08.040   Trespassing by solicitors and peddlers.
   A.   It is unlawful for any peddler or solicitor to engage in peddling or solicitation, as those terms are defined in Section 5.48.010 of this code, without first obtaining a valid permit in accordance with Section 5.48.010.
   B.   It is unlawful for any peddler or solicitor to enter upon any premises on which the owner or occupant has posted a sign in accordance with Section 5.48.010 of this code prohibiting or forbidding entry to solicitors or peddlers.
   C.   Any peddler or solicitor who is forbidden entry by notice given in compliance with Section 5.48.010 or Section 9.08.030 of this code shall be deemed guilty of remaining on the property after receiving notice to depart if the peddler or solicitor rings the doorbell or knocks or creates any sound calculated to attract the attention of the occupant.
   D.   Any person who violates this section shall be subject to a fine of not less than one hundred dollars ($100.00) nor more than seven hundred fifty dollars ($750.00).
