Section 6.08.040   Rabies--Report--Disposition of dog--Killing diseased dog.
   Every veterinarian or other person discovering or suspecting any dog to be suffering with rabies shall report such fact to the Health Department of the Village giving the name and address of the owner or keeper of such dog and the license number of such dog, if known. Such dog shall be immediately impounded by a police officer and at the expense of the owner placed in charge of a veterinarian in the county, licensed by the state, for a period of not less than ten (10) days. If, on the report of such veterinarian such dog shall be ascertained to be suffering with rabies, such dog shall be immediately killed, the skull containing the brain of such dog delivered intact to the laboratory of the State Department of Public Health.
   If such dog should die during the interval of observation, the intact brain shall be delivered to the laboratory of the State Department of Public Health.
