The Police Department shall be responsible for law enforcement within the Village. The functions and authority of its members shall include, but not be limited to, the following:
A. To enforce all of the ordinances of the Village and all statutes and laws that have effect in the Village;
B. To preserve order within the Village and to prevent infractions of such ordinances, and of statutes and laws that have effect in the Village;
C. To issue citations for violations of such ordinances, statutes and laws;
D. To arrest violators of such statutes and laws;
E. To be conservators of the peace;
F. To serve writs, summonses and other process; and
G. To perform such other duties as may be directed by the Chief of Police and to comply with the rules and regulations of the Department, as promulgated by the Chief of Police.
