A. Appointment; Term. The Council may appoint a Village Collector, who shall hold office until a successor has been appointed or until removed by the Council.
B. Compensation. The compensation of the Village Collector shall be fixed by the Council.
C. General Duties. It shall be the duty of the Village Collector to execute all warrants for the collection of special assessments or special taxes which by law, the provisions of this code and the ordinances of the Village may be directed to him or her, and he or she shall perform such other duties as are now or hereafter may be imposed on him or her by the provisions of this code, law or ordinance.
D. Books and Accounts; Disposition of Fund. The Village Collector shall keep such books and accounts, and in such manner, as shall be from time to time required by resolution of the Council. He or she shall as often as required by law pay over to the Village Treasurer all money collected by him or her, taking the Treasurer's receipt for such moneys, which receipt he or she shall immediately file with the Finance Director.
E. Reports to Council. The Village Collector shall make a report in writing to the Council of all money collected by him or her, the account collected on, the balance of money uncollected on all warrants in his or her hands, the balance remaining uncollected at the time of return on all warrants which he or she shall have returned during the preceding fiscal year to the Finance Director, and of any other matter in connection with his or her office, annually on or before the tenth day of January of each year.
