Section 2.12.020   Absence of Village Manager; Interim Village Manager.
   A.   Acting Village Manager.
      1.   Designation by Village Manager. In the event that the Village Manager is to be absent from the Village for thirty calendar days or less, he shall appoint a qualified administrative officer of the Village to serve as acting Village Manager; provided that the Village Manager shall notify the Village Council of such designation before it shall become effective.
      2.   Designation by Village Council. The Village Council shall retain the discretion and authority to designate a qualified administrative officer of the Village to serve as acting Village Manager in the case of the disability of the Village Manager, or if the Village Manager is to be absent from the Village for more than thirty days. The Village Council shall notify the Village Manager and all administrative officers of the Village of such designation.
      3.   The acting Village Manager need not be a resident of the Village.
   B.   Interim Village Manager. In the event of a vacancy in the office of Village Manager, the Village Council shall appoint a qualified administrative officer of the Village or some other qualified person to serve as interim Village Manager until a new Village Manager is appointed and qualified. The interim Village Manager need not be a resident of the Village. The Village Council shall notify all administrative officers of the Village of such interim appointment.
   C.   Powers and Duties of Acting or interim Village Manager. The acting Village Manager or the interim Village Manager , as the case may be, shall perform all the duties and exercise all the powers of the Village Manager.
