721.11 CRIMINAL VIOLATIONS AND PENALTIES.
   (a)   Except as may herein be expressly provided, any person violating any provisions under Articles 721 and 723 shall, upon conviction thereof, be fined not less than fifty dollars ($50.00) nor more than one hundred dollars ($100.00), or imprisoned in the county jail not more than thirty days or both fined and imprisoned, and each day or part thereof that any violation shall continue shall be deemed to constitute a distinct and separate offense and be punishable accordingly.

   (b)   Any person engaging in or prosecuting any business, activity, trade or employment contrary to the provisions of this article, whether without obtaining a license therefor before commencing the same or by continuing the same after the termination of the effective period of any such license, shall, in addition to paying the license tax, be liable to the following penalties:
      (1)   If the license tax to which he is subject is an annual one, or for a period of one month or more, ten percent (10%) of such tax for each month or part thereof during which he had been in default;
      (2)   If a license tax is for any period less than one month, ten percent (10%) of such tax for each such tax period or part thereof during which he has been in default. The Recorder shall collect the full amount of the license and penalty therefor.
   (c)   Any person engaging in or prosecuting any business, activity, trade or employment contrary to the provisions of this article, whether without obtaining a license therefor before commencing the same or by continuing the same after the termination of the effective period of any such license, shall in addition to all other penalties for violation of this article, be liable for the payment of all back taxes and penalties for a period not exceeding five years.
