171.18 BONDS ACCEPTED FOR PAYMENT OF FINES.
   (a)   Nothing in this chapter shall be construed to prevent the giving and accepting as to any fines and costs, bond with good security, approved by the Municipal Court Judge, payable at a time not exceeding twelve (12) months after the date of such bond. If default is made in the payment of such bond, the same may proceed on to judgement and execution against both the defendant and the bondsman, as if it were a forthcoming bond.
   (b)   The Municipal Court Judge shall see that all such bonds are preserved and that the proper steps are taken to collect the same when due.
