All public ways or public works damaged or destroyed by the Sanitary Board in carrying out its authority under this ordinance shall be restored or repaired by the Board and placed in their original condition, as nearly as practicable, if requested so to do by the proper authorities, out of the funds provided pursuant to the provisions of Chapter 8, Article 19 of the Act.
