1701.03 DEFINITIONS.

   For the purpose of this chapter, the following words, terms, and phrases shall have the meanings herein set out:

      (1)   “Fire Marshall" means the West Virginia State Fire Marshall and/or his designated representatives.

      (2)   "Town of Winfield Building Code" means the entire contents of the referenced codes as adopted in Article 1701 , Section 1701.01 of the Codified Ordinances of the Town of Winfield, the State Building Code as promulgated and codified in WV CSR 87-4-1, and all the referenced national codes.

      (3)   "ANSI" means American National Standards Institute, 25 West 43rd Street Fourth Floor, New York, New York 10036.

      (4)   "ASTM" means American Society of Testing and Materials.

      (5)   "Building Code" means all aspects of safe building construction and mechanical operations and all safety aspects related to building construction and mechanical operations.

      (6)   "ICC" or "International" means International Code Council.

      (7)   "NFPA" means the National Fire Protection Association.

      (8)   "City" or "Local Jurisdiction" means the Town of Winfield.

      (9)   "Board of Appeals" means the Town of Winfield Board of Appeals consisting of five individuals, as listed in Section 1701.02, with three forming a quorum at any appeal hearing.
