Unzoned areas annexed into the City of Winfield shall be in the R-1, single-family residential district until the City zones it otherwise by amending the zoning maps for the City of Winfield. However, at the time of annexation, the City may opt to have the properties come into the City zoned differently than R-1. In that event, the notice of annexation should include all those individuals who would have a right to notice if a parcel of real estate in Winfield was being rezoned. In addition, any public hearing required in a rezoning situation pursuant to City Code would be required prior to the annexation proceeding.
