Any police officer, other than the Chief of Police, holding a sworn rank may be dismissed, discharged or suspended in accordance with the rules and regulations promulgated by the Board of Police Commissioners pursuant to the authority contained in 65 Illinois Compiled Statutes 5/10-2.1-4.
