432.39 MISLEADING MARKINGS ON SCHOOL BUS OR CHILDREN’S BUS.
   (a)   No person who is the owner of a motor vehicle designed for carrying more than five passengers, which is used or is to be used exclusively for purposes other than as a school bus or children’s bus, shall operate it or permit it to be operated within the City unless it has been painted a color different from national school bus chrome number two and painted in such a way that the works “stop” and “school bus,” “camp bus” or similar works referred to in Section 402.36 are obliterated.    (b)   Whoever violates any provision of this section is guilty of a minor misdemeanor on a first offense; on a second offense within one year after the first offense, the person is guilty of a misdemeanor of the fourth degree; on each subsequent offense within one year after the first offense, the person is guilty of a misdemeanor of the third degree.
