131.05 SUPERVISION; ABSENCE OR DISABILITY.
   The Fire Chief shall be the head of the Division of Fire and responsible to the Mayor or Director of Public Safety for the efficient operation of the Division of Fire. All members of the Division and others aiding in extinguishing any fires or in the prevention thereof or in the performance of any duties required to be performed by them, shall be subject to his direction and control. In the absence or disability of the Fire Chief, the Assistant Fire Chief shall perform the duties of the Chief. Each Battalion Chief shall be in charge of and responsible to the Fire Chief for the efficient operation of the battalion assigned to him. In the absence or disability of a Battalion Chief, the captain designated by the Fire Chief shall perform the duties of the Battalion Chief.
