903.05 MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS.
   (a)   All public streets or highways, except limited access highways, shall be improved by the construction of sidewalks within the portion of the public right-of-way at an exact location as approved by the Director of Public Service or his/her designee.
   (b)   Concrete sidewalks shall be:
      (1)   A minimum of four (4) inches thick;
      (2)   Five (5) feet wide in residential areas;
      (3)   Eight (8) feet wide in commercial areas;
      (4)   If crossed by a non-residential driveway, the sidewalk shall be a minimum of eight (8) inches thick;
      (5)   If crossed by a residential driveway, the sidewalk shall be a minimum of six (6) inches thick.
   (c)   Material other than concrete may be used for sidewalk construction if the type of material and method of construction are approved in advance by the City Engineer.
   (d)   Handicap ramps conforming to federal, state and local laws are required at all street intersections.
   (e)   Curb and apron dimensions and materials of construction will be determined by the City Engineer on a case by case basis to best conform to the specific project area.
