(a) The Chief, Fire Marshal, and Municipal Fire Safety Inspectors are authorized to enter in and upon any premises, building, or structure within the corporate limits of the City for the purpose of inspecting same to determine if any condition exists that constitutes a fire hazard, or which is in violation of the laws of the State and the ordinances of the City relating to fire hazards, fire prevention, and fire protection. These authorized inspections shall be made at reasonable times and in the event entry is denied to authorized personnel, the Law Department is authorized to proceed before a court of proper jurisdiction for an order to gain entry for inspection purposes.

(b) All fire protection, detection, and extinguishing systems subject to annual or semi- annual tests shall be subject to witnessing by a certified fire inspector, if so desired by the Fire Department. If tests are not witnessed, the licensed fire protection company shall submit a written copy of the test results to the Fire Department. Any requests for inspections or witnessing of fire protection systems shall require 48 hours notice.
