§ 52.08 SANITARY SEWER OVERFLOWS.
Sanitary sewer overflows are defined as the release of wastewater from the sanitary sewers to the environment. This may be the backup and overflow from the sewer to the streets or surroundings; or a sewer backup in a business or home. Interceptor users that do not properly maintain their interceptors may be held responsible for damages resulting from sanitary sewer overflows attributed to blockage of flow in the sewer lines as a result of excess fat, oil, grease, grit, or lint from a user's facilities.
