(A) The City Code Enforcement Officer is authorized to conduct inspections of the interceptor, the grounds, and facilities generating the discharge received by the interceptor. Interceptors which are located in parking lots or other areas where vehicles may reasonably be expected to be parked must be protected by a permanent barrier, railing, or other means, at the owner's expense, if it is determined necessary by the Pretreatment Department to ensure continued and uninterrupted access to the interceptor.
(B) If at any time as the result of an inspection, the Code Enforcement Officer determines that the condition of an interceptor is such that it has the potential to adversely affect the sewer system, the Code Enforcement Officer is authorized to establish minimum interceptor maintenance schedules; mandatory interceptor maintenance; require pumping within a specified period of time; or halt all discharges to the interceptor until maintenance can be performed.
