731.01   LICENSE AND REGISTRATION REQUIRED.
   (a)   No person shall sell, bargain to sell or solicit orders for goods, wares or merchandise for immediate or future delivery, or for services to be furnished or performed in the present or in the future, either by traveling from place to place within the City by foot, wagon, automobile, motor truck or other type of conveyance or by temporarily opening a store or other place for such activities, without first registering with the Chief of Police and obtaining a license from him to perform such activity.
   (b)   The registration required by subsection (a) hereof shall be made by filing with the Chief of Police, on forms furnished for such purpose, the following information:
      (1)   The name and home address of the applicant;
      (2)   A brief description of the nature of the business and of the goods;
      (3)   The name and address of the employer with credentials from the employer showing the exact relationship;
      (4)   Fingerprints which may be required by the Chief of Police at his discretion.
   (c)   On the basis of the registration made in accordance with subsection (b) hereof the Chief of Police shall issue a license to perform such activity upon payment of a license fee of two dollars ($2.00) for each day of operation. However, the registrant may obtain a license effective for the remainder of the calendar year upon payment of a fee of fifty dollars ($50.00). The Chief shall issue the license within forty-eight hours of the filing of the application therefor, Sundays and holidays excluded.
