The Division of Fire shall be under the direction of the Fire Chief who shall be accountable to the City Manager. The Fire Chief shall perform the following duties:
(a) Exercise overall supervision of all employees and/or volunteers reporting directly to him;
(b) Aid the City Manager in the preparation of the annual budget for his Division;
(c) Supervise the operation, maintenance and repair of fire vehicles and equipment;
(d) Enforce all laws and codes pertaining to fire safety as to personnel, equipment and the City;
(e) Assign individual work operation to his employees;
(f) Be responsible for the prevention, control and extinguishment of fire within the City, and, in accordance with signed agreements, outside the City, and for the protection of lives and property endangered by fire;
(g) Cooperate with other fire prevention agencies; and
(h) Perform any other duties assigned by the City Manager.
