The Division of Police shall be under the direction of the Chief of Police who shall. be accountable to the City Manager. The Chief of Police shall perform the following duties:
(a) Exercise overall supervision of all employees reporting directly to him;
(b) Coordinate with the City Manager the preparation of all work assignments and schedules;
(c) Assign individual work operation to his employees;
(d) Cooperate with other law enforcement agencies;
(e) Submit a monthly and annual, report of the activities of the Division to the City Manager;
(f) Aid the City Manager in the preparation of the annual budget for his Division;
(g) Be responsible for the preservation of the public peace and order, the prevention and detection of crime, the apprehension of offenders of law and ordinances, the protection of persons and property and the enforcement of the criminal laws of the State, the United States and the City; and
(h) Perform any other duties assigned by the City Manager.
