925.16   WATER TAP FEE.
   (a)   There shall be a water tap fee or connection fee paid by every owner/applicant who wishes to connect into the existing City water system based on the proposed water meter size as provided in Table A below.

   *   Note: A typical water service connection consists of a saddle connection w/corporation stop (valve) at the water main, the service line to the curb valve, the curb box (generally located at the right-of-way line), and an AMR meter (1" or less in size). The City will make water connections for 2" or less, however the City will only provide meters for 1" or less.
   **   Unit means multi-family units greater than 3, business units, but not motel/hotel, rest/nursing homes, etc. or as determined by the City Manager.
   (b)   Water Meters. Upon payment of the water tap fee, the City will furnish what the service demands up to and including a one inch meter. Any special meter or meter size larger than one inch must be approved by the City and shall be purchased by the owner/applicant. Any meter setting two inches and above must install a by-pass and a by-pass meter at the expense of the owner/applicant. After installation, the City will maintain one inch and smaller meters however the City will not maintain any by-pass meters. The owner/applicant shall be responsible for the cost of replacing any special meter or meters two inches and larger if the meter can no longer be feasibly maintained.
   (c)   Residential water meter. Residential water meters are normally one inch or smaller in size. The owner/applicant has the option of the size of the meter (3/4", 5/8", or 1"), only one inch or smaller meters are furnished by the City; otherwise, the owner/applicant must purchase a meter approved by the City. Note: Minimum monthly water bills are based on the size of the water meter (see current water rates).
   (d)   All water taps and installations shall be in accordance with the current water rules and regulations.
   (e)   Additional fees/charges may be added by the City Manager if applicable.
   (f)   All water tap-in fees shall be placed in the water capital extension fund.
